First opening credit 0:01
Colours in the background identify the use of a circus as red and white are commonly used to represent a circus setting.
Not only this however the typography for the title is different compared to the rest of the text as it is black and therefore stands out. The words Freak Show are shown to be larger then the series name to show what season you are watching.
Second credit 0:12
The image is the background is very strange and unusual, the use of a skeleton suggests death.
The typography in this credit is shown to be white as it stands out in front of the dark background.
Third credit 0:16
In this shot you are able to identify the background to be a circus area, this could indicate where the series is set and what the audience should expect from the show.
The typography is continuous and follows the same style as the previous credit.
Fourth credit 0:23
In this shot the character is shown to be mutated with two heads, this could be indicating in what you should expect from the show, the use of the two heads is used several times throughout the opening sequence.
The typography in this image is shown to be a part of the image as the knife covers parts of the last letters creating more layers on to the image.
Fifth credit 0:26
Within this shot there is very small movement, the toes, fingers and head twitch occasionally. Before the credits are shown the camera has a close up of the figures face before cutting to a wider shot.
Sixth credit 0:35
Within this shot there is also very little movement however the character is shown to hit the nail in to his own head. This could be suggesting self harming.
Seventh credit 0:37
Within this credit the character has a shared head with two separate bodies, this is reverting what was previously shown with the single body and two headed character. The characters could also be suggesting that there is an element of mutation as warped bodies are shown throughout the opening credits.
Eighth credit 0:39
Once again there is very little movement and the camera is slowly moving towards the left, during this scene shadows are cast across the setting.
Ninth credit 0:43
This is the first close up of the clowns distorted face, the background is very dark and this creates a very mysterious sense.
Tenth credit 0:54
As the character unzips the texts fades on to the screen, this is the first piece of text that has used a transaction and faded in to the screen. Not only this however this persons name has been placed in the very centre where as other names we shown to be located just off centre.
Eleventh credit 0:56
Once again this text is shown to be embedded with the background as the display becomes larger and covers more of the 'S' and 'L'.
Twelfth credit 0:58
The name is once again repeated towards the end of the credits as it is one of the most important pieces of information given to the audience. The typography of this title follows the other texts that are shown as it is white and all the same font. However the text covers majority of the page were as previous credits only took a small section.
Final credit 1:04
This is the final shot shown to the audience, the colour of the writing is different as it is shown to be more 'tea stained', not only this however the text is larger and located in the centre of the screen. This indicates that the creators are very important and should be remembered by the audience.
