The Blair Witch Project
In the Blair Witch Project there is a prominent use of the symbol (below) in the film.
The symbol is a magic symbol or charm among medieval alchemists and wizards.
Due to is simpleness to draw and make it would be very useful in our film opening as we are going to use symbols so we will be able to make/draw this to use and also as a point for inspiration.
True Detective
In True Detective, there is use of hanging symbols/statues used to send a message and or represent a supernatural evil presence.
With relevance to our film opening these would be perfect to add to our mise-en-scene to instate the presence of the supernatural and also to create and eerie atmosphere for the audience.
Conclusion
In all, I don't really wish to use any other symbols/statues as these are simple to make/draw and also fit with are genre of supernatural possession. They also act as good points for inspiration to create and make our own symbols/statues later in pre-production.
