Bailey May - Sound Effect

Horror Sound Effect

For this task I used Audacity to make and produce this sound effect.
It was very simple to make as all you need is Audacity and be able to whistle or have someone else whistle for you.

Step 1.

I had to record myself whistling to get the base for the sound effect.

Step 2.
I added an effect called PaulStretch where is stretches the whistling sound making it sound creepy

Step 3.
At the start I added Fade-in to the whistling sound so it gets gradually louder to build suspense.

Step 4.
At the end of the whistling noise I added Fade-Out giving it a mysterious edge.

Step 5.
I chopped it down to 10 seconds long for the desired effect and is now the finished sound effect.

Evaluation
Pros
  • Easy to make
  • Not much skill needed
  • Cost free as Audacity is free software
  • Can use any sound to make a similar creepy noise
Cons
  • Have to be able to have access to a computer
  • Very quite space to the recording is clear
Next time I think im going to use a song instead of making the base noise myself to see what different ambient creepy noises i can make and compare them both to see which is more effective.
